Tonight we are heading to Covent Garden’s Hospital Club for the launch of the Rudeboy Salon.
Following on from last years hugely successful ‘Return of the Rudeboy’ exhibition, the creators are now bringing the swagger and significance of the 21st century British Rudeboy to a new coffee table book and a Goodmans art & sound installation by Rudeboy artist Andrew Ibi.
Started last summer by music photographer Dean Chalkley and renowned fashion creative director Harris Elliott, this years exhibition promises to be an immersive experience with previously unseen prints on display, giving insight into the world of the Rudeboy with photographs, screenings, a panel discussion and live Djs.
Along with the Coffee Book book there will be the unveiling of the ‘Return of the Rudeboy x Goodmans Sound Installation’. Made of an impressive stack of 90 Goodmans heritage radios, designed and appropriated with his distinctive hand-drawn artwork. The tower will play a soundtrack of tunes and spoken dialogue that capture the sound and soul of this urban group.
Rudeboy Salon is being held from this Friday 5th to Saturday 6th June at:
The Hospital Club,
London, WC2H 9HQ
