Since releasing her debut EP ‘Halfway’ to much acclaim the electro-synth artist LAOISE has steadily gained fans with her slow, seductive beats and ethereal voice.

After an exhausting summer with a string of festival dates at Forbidden Fruit Festival, Electric Picnic, Truck and 2000 Trees she is back and stronger than ever with the new track ‘Rich’ and we have the single premiere here on 1883. Taken from her 2nd EP due out next year, she moves from the half-way recovery of her prior release to full-blown strength, embracing a new, passionate lyrical style.

Emotions simmer under the surface as LAOISE rebukes those who do her wrong. Speaking about the track, she says: “The song is about a love that’s been compromised for possessions. I’ve come across some nasty people who chose money over love and it’s made a negative impact on the people around them. I don’t deal well with someone treating me badly, and I especially don’t deal well with someone treating my loved ones badly, so the song is a screw you to the people who try to.”
