1883 Magazine

Hello and welcome to the first in our Weekly Music Round Up column. This is your weekly one-stop-shop for all the best new tracks the last 7 days has proffered, from bangers to slow-burn bedroom numbers and all the good ol’ dirty guitar in-between. The one rule? It has to be an on-repeat jam.

This week we’re kicking off with the latest cut from Calvin Harris, who is about to drop the album of the summer. ‘Rollin’’ features two other men of the moment, Future and Khalid. Two other albums sure to be on most end of year lists have come in from J HUS and Paramore, so we’ve gone ahead and picked the summer jams from both. If ‘I Like You Style’ isn’t played at every BBQ and roof party this year we’ll be gravely disappointed, and those jingly chimes in ‘Pool’ are a bit ‘Pala’-era Friendly Fires. Elsewhere Tove Styrke is making her mark on 2017 with intent, actress and activist (and general badass teen idol) Amandla Stenberg takes her first foray into releasing music, Rejjie Snow and Joey Bada$$ team up on the week’s best chill anthem, and newcomers Joy Crookes, Santino Le Saint and KWAYE look very promising indeed.
